Blue Cross Blue Shield
Recently, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts completed the first major step of its long term South Shore Real estate plan by purchasing the seven story Solomon Willard Building at One Enterprise Drive (345,410 s/f) for $39.5 million. Blue Cross invested approximately $90 million into the building to relocate several hundred employees to Quincy.

Boston Scientific
Boston Scientific is undergoing a $12 million expansion and renovation project at their North Quincy facility. Designed to improve efficiency and expand operations, the investment further solidifies their commitment to remaining part of the local community.

Granite Links Golf Course
Selected by Golf Digest magazine as one of “America’s Best New Courses of 2004” in the United States, the spectacular Granite Links Golf Club will offer 27 holes of championship golf when fully developed. Eighteen holes, a driving range and an outdoor pavilion with magnificent views of Boston and the Blue Hill Reservation are now open. This recreational facility adds another dimension to the attractiveness of Quincy as a place to do business as well as to live.

Granite Lofts
Situated on approximately 2 acres and encompassing an entire city block, Granite Lofts is an innovative and creative re-use of industrial buildings in the North Quincy area. Comprised of two separate buildings lying on the east and west ends of the site and separated by a sprawling landscaped courtyard, the 74 loft residential site includes approximately 10,000 square feet of commercial retail space.

The 10 million dollar project, developed by Granite Lofts condominium LLC, an affiliate of The Heritage companies has been a tremendous asset to the area. The Heritage Company is a comprehensive real estate development and investment firm with offices in Boston and the South Shore.

High Point
With panoramic views of the Boston skyline and the Blue Hills Reservation, the High Point residential development is a combination of luxury rental apartments and upscale condominiums. Built on the site of an abandoned granite quarry that had been used as an urban landfill in the 1960’s, the development includes over 1000 units and offers great convenience to Boston and all major highways.

Marion Manor
To better serve its elderly community, the Marion Manor, located in South Boston, recognized the need to build a new, more state of the art facility. The organization chose a site in the Quarry Hills area of Quincy that offers both an attractive, spacious setting and close proximity to Boston. The plans currently include a 246-bed nursing home, 165 units of independent living and 24 units of dementia assisted living. This 352 bed skilled nursing facility is in the process of obtaining PUD and Conservation Commission approvals and is also marketing independent living apartments with a view toward obtaining financing for their proposed building project. The time line for completion is three to four years.

Neponset Landing
Conroy Development, a full service real estate development and investment company with projects totaling over $500 million in the Greater Boston has reused of an industrial property along the Neponset River in North Quincy. Neponset Landing is a 280-unit redevelopment project of rental apartments. The bottom two levels of the high-rise building are structured parking and the top ten hold the apartments. The building is located at 2 Hancock Street in the former Mathueson Machine Works facility with spectacular views of downtown Boston and the Boston Harbor.
